Field Service Engineer – Testing Instruments

SUMMARY:

The Field Service Engineer is a field-based position responsible for customer support activities focusing on troubleshooting, engineering, service engineering, repair, commissioning, start-up training, and preventative and corrective maintenance of scientific instrumentation. The successful field service engineer must be able to utilize proven troubleshooting processes to diagnose and resolve technical issues on various electromechanical instruments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum, two-year Electronics or Mechanical engineering degree
  • 50% to 70% of travel is within North America, typically by airplane. Some international travel will be required.
  • Must have a valid passport and driver’s license
  • When not traveling, working out of Medford (Boston), MA facility
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and customer service procedures; hands-on troubleshooting control systems and instrumentation; ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes and volt meters. As well as knowledge of testing procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and communicate such knowledge verbally and in writing effectively.
  • Ability to use customer relations management service with updated notes and communication
  • Lifting and carrying 50+ pounds occasionally
  • Standing and squatting for extended periods
