Culinary Arts Teacher

The position for a Culinary Arts Teacher will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is 4:00 pm., April 24, 2026, or until the position is filled.

POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE: The Culinary Arts Teacher , under the supervision of the Principal, provides students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in school and society.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the District’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  2. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
  3. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies and administrative regulations.
  4. Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  5. Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers.
  6. Performs other duties assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.
  7. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree
Trade and Industry Certification to teach Culinary Arts/Food Science
Experience in providing training or instruction preferred
Appropriate Texas Teacher’s certificate

EQUIPMENT USED: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position student’s w/physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint; and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards.

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 2026-2027 School Year
SALARY: Based on the 2026-2027 Classroom Teacher Salary Scale
